This historical series, combined with a touch of fantasy is really entrancing and fascinating.

Sorry, but I’m not that gullible or forgettable as to accept that. The plot is lack luster. I really wish several things had happened differently.

There was summary, but nothing of the actual action. Then there is Narian. I enjoyed it but not to the extent that I loved it. So I had wondered why, and after I finished the book, she told me. The only reason I persevered and forced myself to read this thing was because I liked one character.

Legacy (novel series)

But Alera is too busy worrying over how to get her family and friends to accept Narian as her future husband, and she is woefully uninformed when it comes to her former kingdom’s concerns. Legach is handsome to but not quite as much as Steldor. Unfortunately, not only does Alera refuse to take any action that will help her people’s life, she takes active measures to make sure they accept letacy Cokyrian rule without fight, going as far as to make speeches about peaceful co-existance with the Cokyrians and even betraying them to the enemy when she’s informed of a revolution plan.

Alera is the Grand Provost of Cokyri’s new province.

I understand fully the trials and tribulations of your current predicament. I really wish that I could say Alera has improved in some minuscule way.

Though I had no trouble in believing in their romance though I wish their romance would have been more gradual and not as fastI do have a problem with Narian – getting over the fact that he’s quite handsome and is also quite sweet and is also quite caylla bad boy. But she could not have guessed that their clandestine meetings would unveil the dark legacy shadowing both their lands.

Unfortunately, no suitor matches her father’s strict qualifications aside from Lord Steldor, the egotistical son of the Captain of the Guard whose very breathing manages to annoy Alera. She could have offered a different perspective on the story but legaacy she is just as worthless as Allera if not worse.

At times this frustrated me, but if I looked at it from a 17 year old living in her time period, it was very real her emotions and reactions.

The plot was drawn out slowly but, in truth, was pretty much nonexistent. Alera’s country is a lifetime special masquerading as a fantasy world.

Legacy: Cayla Kluver: : Books

Alera wasn’t wimpy she stood up to her father and others, but she was respectful of protocol, and her kingdom. I was just sitting here about to make the assertion that her perspective doesn’t really add anything to the story from a narrative point of view, but, on further reflection, I think her story serves as a foil to Alera’s, showing how things might have been a bit different had Alera chosen another path.

And this is the last book right? I was intreged by London, Alera’s bodyguard, he has a mysterious past. Narian is the sort of bad boy that comes into a girl’s life.

Except that there was a boy who was never found and, after the days continue to pass, it became obvious that the child could only be dead.

And the suitor her Father had chose was not the one she thought would make her happy Instead it just feels like a lame attempt to add more depth to the plot. Then enters Narian a handsome and mysteries young man. I’m so excited that the second book Allegiance, which is now on NetGalley, and I can’t wait to start reading it! Zur Aufmachung Zum Cover: That’s the whole story of Sacrifice. The way she sees herself and her kingdom I wish I could say that K,uver managed to like her toward the end of the book.

I’m happy to have been able to read it early, because, yet again, I found myself wholly swept up in Cayla Kluver’s klucer. And this book produced the same reaction. I so completely loved Alera’s relationship with her bodyguard, London! Goodreads helps you keep track of books you want to read. I mean Alera, legac just sits around hoping for the best, doing everything she can for Narian, and I cannot take it.

Not to mention that she’s already finished high school at the age of sixteen. Steldor was another great character to get to catla all over again. I also felt that the story’s action always took place without her and we had jluver wait for a secondary character to explain to Alera what was going on.

Legacy (novel series) – Wikipedia

While she’s proven she can’t defend herself. Shaselle was forced to grow up too fast, and she had a huge struggle breaking free from her spoiled and privileged life. Allegiance finds Alera as Queen of Hytanica, married to Steldor. Told from Princess Alera’s perspective, I did not connect with her and she came across as a little immature to expect herself able to run a kingdom, despite her father’s misgivings.

I really hated how she ratted out one of the characters when she should have just ASKED them about it first. I just wanted her to truly stand up for herself instead of doing what was expected of her. They were blue, sharp and intense. What I love about these books, what makes me look past their faults and hold them up as personal favorites, is the fact they Cayla Kluver always manages to convince me that I know what’s going to happen and then pull the rug right out from under me.

Shaselle was refreshing; though stubborn, she had best interests at heart and she was more caring, feeling more than the more robotic Alera.
