This third tale in The Riftwar Legacy is a breathless race for a priceless treasure. It’s a race against time, against the myriad sinister and competing evil forces desperate for the all-powerful prize, and ultimately against the fundamentals of nature, which in Midkemia can be as formidable as the gods themselves.
Great story if a little predictable at times. Overall would recommend to everyone going through these series. The only downside I found was the editing of the first few chapters. It didn’t flow very well, with gaps between the different bits of niration. But this didn’t stop the enjoyment of this book. I’m a big Raymond E. Feist fan, did enjoy reading all his books when I was younger, so when I saw the narrated version, I jumped at the chance.
I’ve heard several narrators for different types of book and love the way Peter Joyce delivers the dialogue, painting a tapestry of events and personalities that flow with the environment. Well worth a listen. Give as a gift.
