I freaking kid you not. Did Becky learn that vanity is all for nothing? Where did this bizarre little book come from? Gorgeous is a modern day fairytale that is absolutely ridiculous and it had me laughing quietly to myself quite a bit.
I love books that ruudnick the celebrity culture, and Gorgeous does that like a b. I did like Becky’s character, gorgwous once again, this story was too over the top for me. Because like I said before I love this book.

January 11th, 16 19 Jan 13, I had to wonder what makes this NOT a satire.
But I could tell she was dazzled, by the show and the city and by being away from home for the first time. She was compassionate, and I just enjoyed everything about her. And what are the repercussions?
She calls the number, and ends up in New York, meeting Tom Kelly, reclusive designer to the stars think, maybe, Tommy Hilfiger? This has been one that I’m very curious about.
Detailed Review Summary of Gorgeous by Paul Rudnick
Recommended to fans of Beauty Queens. I fully expected Rocher borgeous be written as initially supportive but eventually envious, complete with a falling-out and ultimate reconciliation at the end of the book. Becky decides to call off the gorbeous, and she flees to the States with Rocher in tow, they find jobs as New York cashier girls and spend months living on the dying pull-out couch of two aspiring actresses.
Becky is not so sure of her transformation, not so sure of Tom Kelly, and very afraid of what being permanently Rebecca would do to her life. There’s a lot of things I loved about it. It’s edgy, it’s raw and it’s got this insane amount of subtle magic that actually works. This book was a hot mess!! View all 11 comments. Being pretty or being herself. This is pretty terrible. Spoilers ahead and I want to say I haven’t enjoyed a book so very much in such a long time. There is a moral to Gorgeous about inner beauty and that’s nice and all, but it’s not why I enjoyed the book.
Gorgeous Book Summary and Study Guide
First of all, I kinda fell in love with this Prince of England myself. Becky is heartbroken over the loss of her mum but also baffled by what her promise means, until eventually she finds out. I’ve been a Rudnick fan since, let’s say when his last novel, Rudnic Take It, was published in the meantime I’ve been forced to keep up with his script writing.
It’s me, not the book. It has a heroine I love, with friends I adore. She still sounds like Becky, rudnicl that’s where the similarities stop. I hated Rebecca and what she was supposed to represent. I did buy her relationship with her best friend Rocher, which is one of the highlights of the book. It reminds me of one of those hipsters I see when I study at Starbucks. Whenever the MC, Becky, entered a room we got a laundry list of every piece of furniture, down to its make, model, Rating: Just as Rebecca goes for the gold, Tom Kelly cleanly jerks the rug out from under her.
She knows she doesn’t belong there, even though she’s inhabiting the body of the most beautiful woman in the world.
I loved the dynamic and banter between the two of them.

He’ll design three dresses to transform the very average Becky into the most beautiful woman who ever lived. Slightly entertaining, could have used a better reader. Turns out he knew Becky’s mom when she was young and a beautiful model.
