You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step. Don’t get me wrong, this was a good book in a marginally insightful sense; but I had felt that it was mainly catering towards individuals who required assistance in breaking deeply imbedded habits by the way of very subtle changes to their daily routines.


Another thing advocated in the book is to open the door to changes through asking a question and not trying to answer it, but rather allowing it to roll around in your head for a few days. And it is not how much we give, but how much love we put into the giving. This is a book that I want to revisit more than once to take it all in.

This book is also extremely short, which I guess is extremely fitting given the subject matter. About the Japanese concept of “kaizen” and how small steps and a focus on incremental improvement can lead to great results, as opposed to shooting for grand innovation that never gets off the ground.

I have liked Kaizen ever since it was introduced to me for the first time at management classes during my university studies. If you’re looking to make any type of roberh in your personal or work life, this is a great book to get hold of. Either way, starting small and making small progress while trying to change makes total sense to me. Great material but not very in-depth and somewhat repetitive.
