Hollie rated it it was amazing Feb 09, Iuz built a sinister empire that once held the northern lands of the Flanaess in fear and constantly threatened the surrounding kingdoms in an attempt to rule the entire world of Oerth. Tuesday, 11th September, The worst example is Iuz, who the characters have a chance to conceivably attack. As the wizard’s palace descended, his paranoia that others would steal his secrets or prevent his ascension increased, and the arcane traps and bound guardians he left to protect the abandoned levels above him grew more and more powerful and eccentric.

Little do they realize they have stumbled upon an epic situation where failure could mean the destruction of the world. Worse, they learn that she has broken Vayne’s control and has disappeared into the most mysterious and dangerous exepdition Castle Greyhawk’s dungeons, the Tower of Zagig. In the course of three complete dungeon levels, the PCs discover the villainous plans and thwart the general’s ambitions, only to discover that other agents of Iuz lurk elsewhere in the castle — beyond locked doors requiring a key once possessed by Zagig himself.
The above seven points do not begin to encompass all of the juicy Greyhawk tidbuts scattered throughout ERGH but they hit the highlights. In the company of his orc henchman Quij and the cleric Castel, Robilar confidently set into motion Mordenkainen’s grand plan to save the future of the Flanaess. All these excusions are necessary to the adventure while also being nice tips of the hat to the World of Greyhawk setting more generally.
While of little use in running the adventure proper, these sections will be of immense value to those new to the Greyhawk setting. Doom revealed in the end as a Doombot, a robotic double of the real Doom, it takes something away from the fight.
