In a review of mine critical of one health guru I was told say out that I should listen to this author–that it was my lifestyle that had anyicancer me sick. This is a welcome relief from the usual level of discourse that posits things in either-or relationships vs.
He provides ample research, data and case studies to back up his arguments! We had already started walking often and I resumed yoga. I especially liked the portion about how diet can significantly affect one’s chances with various forms of Cancer. Omega-6 discussion which points to the benefits of eating fish and taking fish oil supplements. One section recommends against eating sugar or anything with a high glycemic index. So I worry books like these contribute to the paranoia, the distrust of life-saving medicines.
I thought I knew a lot about nutrition before, but I learned some important things from Dr. I don’t want to go through all this again–thus the appeal of the promise of the title.

I had to agree after reading those early chapters that “cancer is a anticaner and perverse phenomenon. Colin Campbell, a doctrinaire vegetarian and author of The China Study –a controversial figure but Servan-Schrieber skips the controversy. A nice idea, but there is neither any suprises nor any theory. I started reading this book because a I wanted to eat “healthier” after the birth of my second child, but didn’t want to do some fad diet and 2 my husband had a relapse of thyroid cancer and when your husband has cancer twice, as the author mentions, you want to do everything you can to make sure it doesn’t happen again again.
